Wow, didn't know about this whole thing.

Turns out there are some interesting public records on this here though:

I know that a ton of courts systems in the Midest U.S. are still using PROMIS.

Lmao, had no idea about interpol

The International Criminal Police Commission (proto-Interpol) even shared their HQ with the literal Gestapo in the mid 1930s.

someone who's good at it needs to code a crawler to archive the posts here and everything linked from them, a couple links deep, since it tends to be the first stuff to disappear from the web

So uh, I messed around and did this - some code is here

It's ugly, but it works.

Scrapes all pages with links (but they are in wall of text) and image links. I didn't go to "deep" on the links though, but I think I can automate parsing all links in the output file and adding them to https://web.archive.org/ programatically anyways, maybe I will do that when I have some time.

Format example:

Just archived this whole thread, dunno if I should share that somewhere here but I can mange if people are interested. For now I'll keep that back-pocket.

gently caress learning to code though, learn how to parse through the void instead.

I do hate looking at this photo for so long, but I am really interested in some of the lapel pins he's got on here and their symbols..

EDIT: just noticed his weird loving chest hair bursting out of his collar :barf:

A bit earnestly, found some of those from here, but there is the one on the left that is interesting - might be "Cyber Corps" (lol) but also it has arrows instead of lightning bolts, and I cant make out the text there..

Pretty great recent talk from Trevor Paglen on manipulation and control, managed outcomes, UFOs, etc:

If you don't know Paglen's art and research, this is imo one of the best coffee table books you can have lying around: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2103000.I_Could_Tell_You_But_Then_You_Would_Have_to_be_Destroyed_by_Me
