The whole covid being made in a lab story is just a scapegoat for the real failure of governments worldwide: that we had evidence of these kinds of viruses becoming more dangerous over the course of decades to the point where an outbreak on this scale was almost inevitable, but our institutions did literally nothing about it, either because they disbelieved or didn't take the evidence seriously or, and I find this the more compelling reason, that they thought the cost would lay mainly on the poor who could use a little trimming down. e: lovely snype

I don’t know apples from bananas when it comes to virology, so I don’t even know how to grapple with the idea that the virus was engineered. On an emotional level I know I don’t want to believe that. I think the small scale MK-ULTRA stuff (turning otherwise normal people into killers) was reasonably successful, but that was precisely Jolly Wests area. He also achieved success in inducing psychosis in otherwise mentally healthy individuals. The problem is that it's a time and resource intensive process to brainwash a killer when you can just use an agent and blame it on someone else. Inducing psychosis seems to be a much quicker affair though, and very useful in witness tampering. See: Jolly West's visit with Jack Ruby.
