I don’t think the CIA or FBI killed Hemingway as in literally pulled the trigger but Ernest Hemingway was diagnosed with psychotic depression and given ECT treatments for correctly stating that he was being spied on by the FBI and that his phones were bugged, and one of the main reasons I’ve always heard that was seen as a “cause” of his suicide was the distress caused by the severe damage ECT did to his memory and his inability to remember episodes from his own life.
