A song I've been looking for for years. Might have been on a punk-o-rama compilation but I've listened to most of them and couldn't find it. Kind of sunny undistorted guitar with a ridiculously gruff Oi guy singing. Probably 1997-2001??? I know that it's on some compilation. I can't remember any lyrics I just remember how funny I thought the juxtaposition of the music and guy's voice was.

what's that really well known epic choral song where you have the chorus that says the same thing (prob in Latin, there's four words dun-dun-dun-dun) over and over but they get louder over time, from a whisper to the point at which they are practically yelling? and then there's a huge orchestral ending.

I believe you're thinking of the song "Bye Bye Bye" by N*Sync

I'm trying to remember the name of a really lovely old PC platformer I played probably in the mid to late 90s. It had one of the weirdest design flaws I've ever seen. Whenever you scrolled the screen it just showed you garbage data unless you went into the menu and back out again. The programmer's solution to this was to have this demonstrated by the game's demo that autoplays in the main menu so you know it's supposed to look like that.

Also for shits and giggles can someone find the avatar I used as a teen. You can see part of it in this picture.

Late 90's/Early 2000's spanish language talk show. Either univision or telemundo, I think. The only thing that I remember EXTREMELY VIVIDLY is that the entire audience was made up of people who were, for lack of a better term, mega ugly. The audience was seriously like a freakshow. Would love to find that show again.

It's a scene where a kid gets pulled into a TV playing static. But you actually see it happen- a hand made of static reaches out of the TV and extends across the room. I think later on, the parents have to actually step into the TV to rescue the kid.

I also don't think it's The Ring, since I watched some scenes from that and couldn't find one where the screen is playing static when she comes out.

Christmas related white whale:

I'm looking for a group of toys that were popular when I was a little kid (late 80's/early 90's). They were simple wooden dolls that I think are sized and shaped like "little people" toys. The most specific thing I can remember about them is that they had a train and where the tracks connected were shaped kind of like the edge of a puzzle piece. There were houses and maybe like a playground set up as well. I really want to get some of these for my little one but I CANNOT freaking find these things. Maybe they don't even exist...

kupachek posted:

The designation scheme is usually along the lines of "Cover, Barrel, [object name] [caliber]", in this case, I'd reckon that for a 20mm, it's probably a M1 or AN/M2 which were in use during the war by the US Army Air Forces and by the US Navy.
From what I remember, most covers were tied with strips, but I have seen pull rings on other non-mil covers that are similar, generally aviation related.

I don't recall US 20mm ammunition boxes having tags that hung off, either. Liberal use of stencils though.

Honestly, I'm inclined to think it's a post war fabricated souvenir that doesn't correspond to an actual item, just the phrase. The punch alignment marks are visible, and that wouldn't be the case if it was struck with a propper die, only when you are selecting and arranging the characters by hand

So this all seems to start making sense when i take into account that the toolbox in question was filled with metal working and fabrication tools...

No, I since returned it to the Old Man because he realized there was something in it he needed but I am a total idiot and didn't snap any pictures. I do remember most of the contents though. There were tap and dies, a "c" metal stamp, a variety of socket wrenches and sockets larger than any I've ever seen, pin stock for replacing machine pins, various metal boring drill bits, a couple small hammers, a gapping wrench for some king of spark plug, a few very long screw drivers, twenty or so files of all shapes and sizes, and a set of various blunt chisels. It was cool as heck and I am dumb for not taking pictures.

Okay, here's one that someone will probably get instantly:

A nickelodeon show, somewhere between '90 and probably '96. It was a documentary that featured a bunch of shots of the interior of a school. It was about kids/teens that suffered from, I guess, depression. Like they were suicidal or something like that. This has to be a real thing and not a dream. It was maybe? done in an all interview format.
