I'd have been more worried if he was a lineman tbh. I legit think its dumb as hell that the bench press is considered the strength bench mark test at the combine though. I am also definitely not overly sensitive about bench numbers because mine are hot dogshit despite having been lifting with a program now for 3 years, I'm not crying, you're crying, shut up

Nah , I'm pretty sure we were all happy enough with Cam, a little worried he was Vince Young rather than the beast he was. CMC Fiz hated but given that the Panthers had spent 2 first rounders on RBs in the prior ten years or whatever it wasn't exactly considered a plus pick by any of us. We all thought for the style the big idiot owner wanted the team to play Fournette was more the style we needed. CMC has lived up to his draft position but at the time a lot of us were concerned he was a little small and a little slow to hold up to being an NFL RB or a reggie bush style weapon. I was optimistic but not enthusiastic.

I was pissed about CMC, heck my Twitter reaction got picked up in a couple sites for hating the pick.

Shows how wrong I was.

I wanted the Panthers to take Fornette and was pissed he didn't fall.

I was also pissed that the Bills took Zay Jones before us so what I am saying is that it's a very good thing that accessing NFL level talent isn't my real job.

FizFashizzle

wanted fournette over cmc because he seemed like a more physically dominant runner and closer to what the panthers were going to do, which is just run into the middle of the line over and over again. Jonathan Stewart was still on the team. The Panthers had holes everywhere. And it was made worse that Mixon and Kamara obviously looked better right away, and poo poo Cook looked like a world beater in his shortened season.

I didn't think the panthers would have any idea what to do with CMC. To my credit, Ron rivera never did, and CMC's success has come despite the play calling. I'm excited to see what Joe Brady can do with him. Specifically, I don't want to see CMC going headfirst into the line 12 times a game.

And also to my credit, Fournette looked like who we thought he was early on. Turns out he's crazy and Tom Coughlin is a moron.

And full disclosure I actually wanted OJ Howard in that spot.

Cam I wasn't happy about because it felt a whole like like they were settling after Andrew Luck told them to get lost. I didn't think they'd be able to run anything like what they did at Auburn in the NFL, and I didn't think Cam would pick up an NFL offense. Plus, he looked god awful in the preseason, and it was looking like it was going to be a wasted season.

Then he went out and won OROTY so what do I know.

You really think someone would do that? Just go on the internet and be a llama?

tbh back in 2011 I was pissed at the cam pick, not because I thought cam was gonna be bad, but because I was the biggest von miller fan. I thought he was the next julius peppers and wasn't just the best player in the draft, but that he lapped the field.

I disliked the Reggie Bush pick, because (and I was mostly right) I thought he was an east-west guy in college that would have trouble ajdusting and the Saints had so many holes I thought they should trade down.

The Reggie Bush pick excited the city yadda yadda yadda. They actually ended up having an amazing draft that set the stage for the 2009 Super Bowl team- Roman Harper, Jahri Evans, Zach Strief, Marques Colston.

And in his second game too. People still poo poo on him cause they lost both games.

I can't imagine what his passing numbers would look like if he had Chud as his OC for most of his career instead of loving Mike Shula.

Yeah I think it sucks Chud left, sucks even more than the Panthers didn't bring him back as soon as he lost the Cleveland job. Lots of ifs and buts with the Panthers. So much wasted potential with Cam.
