we've been building a vr lab for the school and have spent months arguing with the IT dept that no, a $800 entry-level quadro is not Better than the equivalently-priced rtx 2080 even though It's A Workstation Card, and yes for vr you seriously do need the gaming cards for gently caress's sake we aren't just trying to make your job harder by demanding a custom configuration

anyway they finally agreed to it but because of the dell agreement the only way we could get 2080s was to buy alienware machines. they all have 8 different customizable pulsing led strips on them and i admit i spent a long time playing with the color settings and making them all look juuust right.r

boomers would just leave it at the default settings without realizing it's customizable without even taking the protective film off the strips
