We had someone who was doing all her drills in two goes a year, and living several states away with her active duty officer husband. She sucks so it's pretty annoying that she got to do it. Anyway she became the only divorce from our deployment because she came back and demanded they start having kids right then and there. Her husband wasn't ready, and they got divorced after 2ish years of marriage. For the best really, she's a dumbass party girl who can't barely look after herself. He's a solid guy who's only real big mistake was looking at this drunken idiot who failed out of AFROTC and thinking she'd make a good wife.

The paper in my hometown got bought out by Forum Communications about 10 years ago and has been going downhill ever since. In Earth Day the main opinion column they chose to run was from some Heritage Foundation clown who wanted to talk about all the environmentalist "claims" that didn't come true because they were fixed with legislation. They're planning to start putting most of their poo poo behind a paywall in the coming months and I hope it finally kills them.

My immediate family didn't forget that we were poor Norwegian/German immigrants 100 years ago. Then there's my Bible thumper relatives, my uncle uncle who's still deluding himself into thinking he'll be rich some day, and my aunt who decided to take off for Oklahoma as a high schooler and became white trash by choice. My paternal relatives are a bit wacky and best in small doses. They're pretty well off but at least they always vote blue.

Totally normal. My dad works corrections and loving hates it. The job sucks so it's hard to get good people willing to do it and the bad ones they have to hire love abusing the gently caress out of the very generous vacation policy. They also don't give a gently caress if their fake sick leave screws someone else over, and that person ends up working a double or more shift. He recently told me that right now he likes most of the inmates better than most of his coworkers.
