Was thinking about how creative and interesting 10, 000 Days is - The Pot, Jambi, Vicarious, Wings, Rosetta, Right in Two... And how normal and ordinary this new song is. Yuck. It's alright but it's just alright.

Yeah thinking about Aenima is a bit of a shame, it's such a mammoth, diverse, interesting album. Lots of high points, the interludes add so much to creating an affecting dynamic. Their latter albums are unreal but more of a consistent theme, Lateralus and Fear Inoculum mostly. I took the time to listen to FI on headphones yesterday, had the house to myself, lay on bed chilled out. Enjoyed it a lot. Then I realised I had my music player set to 1.10 speed (to get through podcasts quicker). What the gently caress. Sounds amazing at normal speed too obvious

This album has made me realise two things. 1- all tool albums since Lateralus have been essentially 6 songs, with interludes. That takes away the disappointment with the length of Fear Inoculum. 2- 10 000 Days rules. Every song is incredible.

Absolutely, it a lot of people being hopeful because I guess 10k Days appeared to be a little short on songs. Same thing happened with King of Limbs.
