I mean it's not 13 years' wait good, but I dig this Reflection remix

Sounds like scraps put together from poo poo that was cut from Lateralus, but that's not the worst thing

I remember the review "sessions" for 10,000 Days where they played the album for media people and it sounded so loving weird.

Do a group of people sit around in a room and listen to a 90 minute album like nodding along or what the gently caress. Anyway, Tool x Grateful Dead sounds cool to me.

After listening to this 6 or 7 times I definitely have it waaaay above 10,000 Days. Wings for Marie is an 18 minute slog and after Rosetta Stoned you might as well turn it off.

That's the thing though, everyone has their own opinion. I think a large portion of the fanbase thinks everything after Aenima sucks (as evidenced in this very thread).

Yeah, everything after Aenima is quite polarizing it seems. Lateralus is their best album

Regarding Maynard's vocals I agree he's missing a bit but I'm not surprised. He was doing Ticks & Leeches out of a megaphone 15 years ago because his voice couldn't handle it and now he's like 60. I was still kind of waiting for him to go off on one song like The Grudge or something, but alas.

E: also I'm glad a week after the leak there is still good discussion going on because I really had no idea what to expect and this could have been five pages of "man this poo poo sucks." Some mixed thoughts for sure but I don't think anyone can call this album bad or uninteresting.

Have you sat in this end section before on the floor? I got a similar spot for the DC show (closer to the back of the soundboard), but I also have the option of sitting elsewhere in the lower bowl so I'm debating what to take.

I've been on the floor before and it was real good, but there weren't assigned seats just GA. So not exactly sure how this is going to be with assigned seats.

Ænema
The Pot

Part of Me
Parabola

Forty Six & 2

Stinkfist
Pneuma

That's about the same number of songs they typically play in their tours though. I would not be surprised if that's the set list for this tour with maybe swapping out "Part of Me" for another deep cut depending on the mood. Their sets are typically static given the lasers and lights.

It's been over a decade since I've seen them live, but the times I have they definitely played longer than 90 minutes. Part of that is the set break, but I would hope/guess they play longer than 90 minutes even if it's just some extended jamming without necessarily adding like 5 full tracks.

Jambi
Vicarious
Intolerance
Forty Six & 2

Encore:
Chocolate Chip Trip

Maynard is just weird. I think during the Lateralus tour was when he moved to the back and just did his swaying and stomping. And I mean, when APC toured back in the day after that and the show started with the shadow box around him, he basically stood in the same spot the whole show but he was very emotive and into it. Then I also saw him sing a song while laying down because the show was in a seated venue and people weren't standing.

It kicked rear end. Maynard sounded great, I was surprised. Loud as gently caress, 100% wear ear plugs. The stage show was as good as ever.

Maybe it was because we had end seats on the floor, but they weren't loving around with this either:

I guess I'm not as down on FI as most of you. Definitely agree it's probably their least interesting album, but when any of those songs come on shuffle I don't turn them off.

I am curious to see how the setlist shakes out. I'd actually like to see more of the older stuff again over FI/10k Days. IIRC on the FI tour the setlist was mostly those two albums.

In the US right now it seems like (at least for the shows I've copped tickets to) club/smaller venues have held their prices pretty much the same, even now "after" the pandemic. Arena shows, on the other hand, seem to have skyrocketed.
