With mods sure, to me incremental is about powers of 10 being important. So xxx e 100 all you care about is that e100 and getting it to e101. Game needs to scale to absurd. Disgaea is an incremental game if we need chaos alignment.

probably also would have included some choice lowtax references like buying fancy gift wrapped cookies for yourself to spite your ex wives.

Its pretty shallow, but I'm having fun with it. The gimmick is entirely that minimalistic UI/space it takes, but it's charming and something simple.

It's cute but i feel like it's downloading a virus as I speak. Living through the early internet taught me that if something deviates from God's Holy Windows then you need to run a system scan.

I do have two monitors for a reason though so hopefully the space fills up over time.

so, I've progressed to the midgame of Idle Loops, and all of my options seem like trash:

*I currently have 5 lvls of dark ritual; seems like enough for now
*I've maxed out wild mana + swindles, can do up to lvl 2 of the big dungeon
*I built up a small amount of alchemy (30), but didn't realize you craft one potion at a time --- it seems like you need at least 100 in the skill for it to start to be useful (maybe get it to 34 and hold onto three for the adventurer's guild?)
*I tried the crafting tree, but it seems totally useless at the moment (crafting armor adds 10 self combat lol)

should I just skip merchant town & go straight for 150 magic, chronomancy, and whatever else is up in the mountain?

My advice is to try to brew as many potions as you can per run. It'll still give you some alchemy exp and the money you get from selling them increases pretty quickly. More gold means more mana, which means you can get deeper into the large dungeon. More soulstones then gives you more leeway if you want to grind up the older skills or if you want to push forward.

Also I'm not sure what version you're playing, but this fork has the most content/bug fixes/a prestige system.

I think alchemy started being positive at ~60 but yeah, it's not worth it that early. I focused on alchemy training instead of brewing potions for a good bit. It's not really a mid game thing but late game investment.

I think large dungeon loops are good for ss, but you'll probably only do the first floor or two until you unlock the Mt Olympus skills pyromancy is huge.

Hello yes I heard there was a lovely trainwreck here and...

IMO if you get tired of Merchanton it's absolutely not a bad idea to get into Mt. Olympus if you can get there with a decent amount of mana. In addition to Pyromancy and Chronomancy, there's also 30 soulstones you can snag without having to build up nearly as many stats as you do for the large dungeon.

I remember playing Idle Loops a long time ago and various forks of it, including one with a Squirrel, but I think it was a bit too slow for me. I like the speed when you have 'Bonus Seconds' on. Is there a setting to either set Bonus Seconds to essentially infinite or set the base game speed to 5x? I think it involved opening up the console in the browser inspector but I forget what to look for.

In the linked version you can also "borrow" bonus seconds. You don't have to repay them either.

I just played through it on the 1.0 beta. It's VERY good but it's my second playthrough so I knew not to invest anything into my gear until I hit the max level (150). Just upgrade gear level as you go but don't worry about crafting or optimizing anything. I really really like that game. You can theorycraft builds, do challenge runs, and a bunch of other fun idle poo poo.

edit: also full disclosure I modded it slightly and sped it up, but that's a given any time I post about any idle game.

Ensuring your gear on everything is at or near your current level is what will let you continue to level at a non-glacial pace. Reinforcement is also one of the crafts I'd say you'd want to do on a weapon in order to raise it's base damage if you have that unlocked. Besides that, gem crafting can help you get over some humps, especially the gem set bonuses that come from crafted gems. What I meant by don't craft too much was don't customize your gear with all of the crafting options too much cause you'll be doing the same thing later.

Some builds are just better than others for leveling as well. Rend barbs and assassins should be your main DPS. I used a battlemage tank, assassin dps, and rend barb dps initially for leveling. Warden is great for tanking as well.

I’m using a warden tank, marksman dps, and battlemage all around/debuff

Ironically i had originally built a rend barb before “fixing” my poo poo at 100ish, lol
