sand is the collection of large rocks that were smashed into very tiny rocks. there are a lot of them, but not as many as there are stars in the universe. sometimes that is a lot to think about. etymologists argue that the term sand is linked to it being found in between sea and land.

an etymologist is someone who studies where words come from. when they are not discussing the word “etymologist” they can be found discussing other words. for example, an etymologist might ask something like “where did the word sand come from?” and it is up to them to find out.
