I never saw any previews or ads for The Matrix, I only heard about it the following Fall when a dude in my in Spanish class wouldn't shut up about still not understanding what "the matrix" is. A friend of mine (who I had a crush on) hadn't heard of it either so we rented it and watched it at my house. I sat on the couch and instead of joining me she chose the recliner. I was kind of bummed, but drat that was a good movie!
