I can only imagine that Mr. Dung ball has the Great poo as his Guardian spirit. Aside from that there is a yokai or two that fits the bill for him. The Akaname or Akaneburi, which apparently means filth licker or something like that. They apparently come from old bath houses or run down estates, and are relatively benign. All they do is sneak into places and lick or eat any grime/filth they encounter. Besides looking disgusting and creepy the Akaneburi are harmless. Having one show up around your place isn't a good sign, as that means there's alot of un-cared for crap. In a few stories the Akaname or Akaneburi can also be attracted to spiritual or mental foulness.

Beyond that yokai, there are apparently a lot of deities of the latrine or toilet in Japanese folklore.
