Wheel of Time is a high fantasy series consisting of 14 books published over a 23 year period.

Sadly, the author Robert Jordan passed away without finishing the series. Jordan's widow chose Brandon Sanderson to finish the series based on Jordan's notes, and most fans were happy with the conclusion. Brandon Sanderson is a bit of a big deal and he has his own thread over here which you don't have to fill with Wheel of Time stuff anymore thank you god bless

Amazon and Sony Pictures are currently developing a TV series for Amazon's Prime streaming service which has sparked renewed interest in the story.

Presumably the show's twitter account will be a good source for updates on the development of the show.

Well I guess it does have less sex and brutal violence than GoT right?

Yeah that was kinda the joke in my thread title, they're gonna try to sex it up for TV when it's a really tame series

BTW, I'm really glad this thread is here! I started reading WOT when I first found the previous book thread and was kind of following along with it for a while but by the time I had anything to contribute it had been closed. I'm about a quarter of the way through book 9 on my reread now.

The Sanderson thread had been the unofficial WoT thread for... I don't know how many books I got through until enough people got sick of us discussing it :v:

People need to adopt the be bold principle from wikipedia and :justpost: more threads.

Basically I'm saying more hardass women please

There’s some saying that all upper class British men are begging for a dressing down from Mummy and I gotta believe this is a prime example

It's not an anime because Amazon is trying for a massive decade long prestige fantasy series and Game of Thrones was not an anime.

I think the Two Rivers lads are great examples of all three ways to become a noble:

3) You proclaim yourself one and kill anyone who disagrees - Rand
