Wiggly Wayne DDS posted:there's also conflicting stories on who authorised setting it up, whether nick started it all and then convinced vic to approach ty, if the money was ever disclosed to vic, etc Supposedly Ty is a family friend of Nick, and yes Nick set it up and pushed Ty on Vic. Vic had already gone to two law firms who's taken one look at it and said 'hell no' During deposition Vic didn't know how much they were suing for, and claimed to know virtually nothing about the GFM. Chances of Nick and Ty egregiously abusing the GFM are high (Nick's absolutely going t have been billing it for stuff, like his flight to the trial).

https://twitter.com/Erimgard/status/1172702964399648768 The chuds having decided that the judge is awful, and will be entirely overturned on appeal and Ty will be vindicated are all hugging one another in their cult-like safe space. Which means another round of schadenfreude when none of that happens.

Nick (aka Screech and Blackface lawyer) has gotten himself suspended by twitter given his 'go off the deep end ranting at everyone and throwing all the typical alt-right slurs around' yesterday. The immediate assumption on lawtwitter following the case is that he 'acted up' yesterday so he's suspended when the ruling comes in and everything is denied. I think it was just him doing a temper tantrum because he knows vic's lost and he'd told all his followers/con victims that it was a slam dunk case for them to give him money. The vicstans at the farms etc have already done their rationalisation, which is that the judge is incompetent and already knows he screwed up so is going to deliberately have everything sent to appeal, so it can be overturned and sent back to him to have another go. That or he'll reverse himself the moment Beard says 'pretty please'. They're, uhh, not smart. PST fucked around with this message at 15:13 on Oct 4, 2019 |

The Judge has played into our hands Losing at this stage is good for us Please give more money When I said the worst lawyers in Texas could win this case I meant on appeal, obviously Please give more money I'm the greatest lawyer ever, you need to give me more money -- I think that's going to roughly summarise the talking points.

Just totally normal stuff here, doesn't every lawyer subpoena opposing counsel for the sanctions and fees hearing. (Lemoine has issued a subpoena for Ty to attend on the 21st, albeit as a witness rather than in his role as Vig's lawyer). https://twitter.com/shane_holmberg/status/1192664668256579584

Monaghan posted:The general rule is that you should expect that the prep time for a proceeding is at least twice as the actual time spent in the proceeding- such as a deposition/trial whatever. This poo poo's not like TV were people just show up to trial and do it off the cuff or whatever. I can't find the tweet offhand, but apparently Lemoine stated that getting to depose the plaintiff in a TCPA hearing was unusual and was the kill shot in this case, hence why he prepared so much. Assorted other people on lawtwitter either agreed or referenced back to how Vic's own testimony sunk his case in assorted claims, which has been known/talked about for months now.
