Making orb money seems to take a bunch of effort and time, hence the child slaves so it doesn't seem like something the average person would bother to do. As a wizard you probably have more marketable skills than just low level toiling.

Holy poo poo though, what the hell.

the child laborers aren't wizards, though

like, can you just think a recipe into an orb and then go buy a Wacky Magic Burger That Tries To Eat The Fries Or Something with it and have change, as Joe Schmoe

Most people in Cubeland are wizards though right? If actually making a memory into an orb is a time consuming process the average person wouldn't bother. Working at Wacky Burger obviously pays more,as someone is doing it.

Edit: God drat the plastic hand is the perfect gift, just remembered that.

I bet you inflation doesn't exist for some whimsical reason. Or Monte Cook didn't care about it.

You can just produce children at an increasing rate, so maybe the dangers of Stagflation are one of his secret notes some random sucker got sent.

I don't think we've ever had an actual writeup of Promethean in these threads. The most interesting WoD gameline that completely baffled me about how to actually play it.

Promethean is definitely my favorite of the Chronicles stuff, but actually finding a group to play with is the hardest part. It is definitely a level of buy in way beyond any of the others, as it is so laser focused on what story it is telling.

No easy stories to be found for a laugh, like you can easily do with Vampire or Werewolf. It is hard to wrap your head around how much the world hates and rejects you.

Real adventurers just cart wagons of gold around til they spend it. If the money runs out, well you can always find a church of an evil God laying about and ransack it.

Holding on to your wealth is for boring town-livers not roving bands of killers for hire/private law enforcement specialists.

I really like them. Having a counterpoint to Centimanus guys for ways the Pilgrimage can go wrong definitely adds something worthwhile. And while they are not going to be a thing you encounter a lot, they also explicitly produce your main foes all the time.

So what you're saying is that whole tide pod thing was an attempt to expose Prometheans?

Re Warhammer, do any of the editions have decent rules for playing an ogre? I just love the Maneaters.

Yes! The 40k game Only War does! Not quite the same admittedly, but something.

Out of curiosity given I haven't noticed it showing up in these review posts, have any White Wolf/Onyx Path books used singular they/them for non-binary pronouns?

I wish they would more, but Promethean has a lot of Zie/Zir stuff. It was honestly hard to read because I am not used to seeing it but the inclusivity was nice to see. Being an analogy for being Trans is definitely an easy way to read Promethean.

I hope they do start putting some They/Thems in other books though. Even the 40k book I am reading has a non binary character that they don't make a big deal about it. Very good to see.

IIRC, we weren't allowed to use singular They/Them for years, but WW changed their stance on it relatively recently. OPP-owned things don't answer to WW's corporate styles, so have been freer.

Oh, that is great!

Don't. It's bad. Just don't. We'll all be happier if you don't.

Oh wait, that is a terrible thing. Beast is poo poo, and it should be forgotten.
