hypothetical question: in a situation like this, where the clock is at less than a minute, you need a TD to win/tie, etc, why not run the ball on third down, not call a TO at all between downs and just have a play ready to run when the clock hits :03? that way you don't allow your opponent any time to get a FG to win, and 4th down with 3 seconds to go means no matter what game's over if you lose
