I'm really sorry I didn't get a chance to show off the World's Biggest Bar Brawl, it just completely slipped my mind while I was wrapping up PoR. The idea was to have all the party celebrate and, of course, start a riot in the process. We got that scene at the start of Curse but the end result I intended just fell out of my brain. For those of you who haven't experienced this particular joy: going into the pub and doing something, anything, has a very good chance of starting a pub fight where there are 20 top tier fighters on both sides of an incredibly small room and your party literally stuck in the middle. Good luck figuring out who's on who's side before you get your throat slit! Lol!

Other games do have bar brawls, but not nearly as big and tough as those in the first. In CAB they're against about 6 of the generic fighters found in overworld encounters, but still kind of annoying since they're also outdoors. In Gateway to the Savage Frontier, the bars literally only give you the option to fight or leave. No drinks or tavern tales to hear. Those fights are against 3 or 4 weak enemies, thus very easy and worth little experience.

I guess the point does also remain that after POR, tavern brawls no longer happen randomly. You either start them yourself or they happen in very specific places and circumstances. In that first game, you could potentially stumble into a fight like this before you've even bought starting equipment for your party: My allies are at the top, but luckily they have bows. If you survive that, the town guard will come, and if you don't run away you'll have to fight them too: Note that despite the shared sprite (I think they're randomized to some extent) the guys with shields are all 6th level fighters in this instead of the 2nd level corporals in the first. These both scale with party power, so they're even bigger at higher levels

I started replaying Baldur's Gate recently and when I saw a note mentioning how someone (I think the Iron Throne?) were planning to scapegoat the Zhentarim it made me think back to this LP and how the Zhentarim have been on the receiving end in video games for decades. Poor bastards.

I was fortunate - I had my first on Wednesday and apart from minor pain in the injection arm, i feel perfectly normal (for me, at least). My mum felt like shite for several days after both of her doses, so I feel as if I lucked out.

I lucked out too. First Pfizer dose three weeks ago, no ill effects thus far. Second on the schedule for next week. Man, I want this pandemic over! Hope you’re better soon.

Stock up on your hydration product of choice like you're going to chug three times as much of it as you normally would after a long day of outside activity. We blew through a ton of gatorade in the days after Pfizer 2. Keeping up with the hydration demands kept the worst of the secondary symptoms at bay, but we were still tired.

I got super lucky and snagged an appointment for Pfizer when someone cancelled. And for the next two days had the biggest headaches of my life. You all are making me dread the second dose if it's going to be worse.

The side effects probably vary among individuals. I will give a full report after I get my second dose. To keep this on topic, there are in fact two mine entrances in the Ruins. One is abandoned and a fake, as is obvious when you find it. I'm surprised Chokes didn't make a note of it. [looks back at update 4] wait, he did. Never mind. I also looked up the priest’s tomb treasure on GameFAQs- the best item in there is Leather armor +5. You can find better stuff elsewhere, so we didn’t miss much. achtungnight fucked around with this message at 02:00 on Apr 11, 2021 |

Got the shot three hours ago. Ok so far. Thx for sharing stories and presumed prayers. Pity we can’t live in a world like the Realms of this game where disease is cured magically and thus almost never a concern.

Please, tell me more about the pain and suffering that comes with a vaccination. I'm hoping that if I live vicariously through your suffering, I can get a vicarious vaccination ( vaccines in my area are still for 60+ and high-risk people only. I want to do my part and get the shot, really I do)

I had very strong chills for about 16 hours or so that fully went away about a day and a half after they started. Aside from that and the general aches most people have, the side-effects weren't too bad.Nemo2342 posted:Except for when the DM railroads you and decides that magical healing can't cure your plague. I'm personally surprised that vaccines in the US don't cost $500 a shot. It would be fitting for the country.

Yeah, most of the provinces that are having problems have conservative governments, while the federal government is liberal (so... Republican and Democrats to put them into US terms).

Yeah, I was under the impression that Canada was going for a "shots in arms now" approach over worrying about a strict order. Or is that just province by province? Over here there definitely does seem to be a trend towards conservative states trying to keep everything locked up. Our turbo-Republican governor wanted to slow walk everything by descending age all the way down and threw a full on hissy fit when the feds gave pharmacies the green light to just vaccinate whoever.

I'm not joking when I say that he probably wanted to protect his voting base first. Pensioners in the US love to vote Republican and then go use Medicare and Social Security while bitching about how awful socialism is. Spite aside, I think the the US and Canada run into a bit more of a challenge because they are physically enormous countries with relatively low populations. I could see that lack of density as being a logistics issue.
