Yeah, I mean more original stuff, but those movies that I've seen are good too so I'll check out the ones I haven't. And just literally a terrible application too, it always plays the wrong audio track for me and drops out.

There was a video on YouTube that was up for a few hours and now down, came with Paramount Plus sponsored adverts. Short video promoting the next South Park special called "Not suitable for children". It had references to adults only and pornography so may be a take on Onlyfans? Said it was streaming now on Paramount Plus but clearly that isn't the case. In any event it's private now so must have been released by mistake too early and I can't find another upload of it to share. Seemed legit and I'm certainly hoping it drops before the end of the year.

There apparently was also this ad in New York with the special. Still no word on what's going on, so I assume there's a delay. With the way they work, I assume Trey and / or Matt got a flu or cold and had to delay the release. I like the ad, some vibes of the old fake Alcohol ad they did back in the day.

Oh well, they actually released it today without making any sort of official press release. Going to watch it now expecting very little. It's actually reasonably funny and works pretty well. Definitely not as funny as their other recent stuff but much more insightful and targeted social commentary. I think the biggest miss was not mentioning Twitch, particularly with the recent changes to their sexual content policy. The Logan Paul streamer character was pretty amusing. Parents complaining about not being able to control what their kids watch and drink was amusing. The really walked a tightrope on this one and I can kind of understand if maybe the lack of advertising wasn't just them being meta, but Paramount having seen the episode and then not wanting to get roasted themselves for promoting it; given the graphic nature of it and the message. They clearly had no idea how to end the episode, and went for a weaker version of the Japanese toilet episode.

It's a big miss that they didn't mention Twitch, with it being a lot in the news recently regarding the topic. They're usually more on the ball than that. Episode was okay, some funny parts, but started to feel like the same jokes over and over rather than coming up with new ones to fill the hour. I probably wouldn't watch it again. But I laughed a few times

It's been a very long time since anything South Park has both been funny *and* gone after a deserving target with a criticism that doesn't boil down to "people caring about things are the worst thing to ever happen," so this was an extremely welcome surprise. I rather liked it.

My sister asked me if I could pick up my fourth grader nephew from school on Tuesday. No problem! When I pull up, he's out there playing with one of his friends. I say to his friend, "Hey, Kevin! Did you have a nice long weekend?" He says, "Yeah! And look what I got!" And he reaches into his backpack and holds up a bottle of Prime, "It's one of the rarest flavors!"
