I like Matt Day for his grounded style and manners (and sometimes good photos). I always liked Eduardo Pavez Goye's videos, and lately his photos that he shows in them have been growing on me as well.

Recently I got hooked on these two: Shoot Film Like a Boss - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRev1D_EDHyzhW8_voY0Z_g - earnest-looking dude who shoots film, and actually prints his pictures in a real darkroom in almost every episode. It's contact sheets and dodging and burning all the way. The Naked Photographer - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUcaft-3hNIuB1L1IgARPoQ - a channel about advanced darkroom techniques from a guy who used to work in the industry back in the day. In-depth technical content about things that I haven't seen much elsewhere on Youtube, like print spotting and retouching, densitometry, selenium toning and what have you. Some others: Mat Marrash - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCta-8f4Qj-jzPb61Ua8D_6Q - large format photographer. He goes shooting LF every week. Unfortunately the only thing he seems to like to shoot are boring pictures of trees. Todd Korol - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ33ldV4AWqroqqjDFbrSuQ - large format photographer. Some boring pictures of trees, but his portrait work seems to be nice? He has a bunch of technical videos that may be useful to get started with shooting LF. Trangent - https://www.youtube.com/c/Trangent/videos - weird channel that has useful darkroom and film-related content mixed in with other incomprehensible stuff. Has some good tutorials for getting started with developing your own film, darkroom printing and so on. k-zed fucked around with this message at 13:59 on Jan 4, 2021 |
