my favorite segment was when some woman died in a bathtub and flies got at the corpse for a couple weeks so they put a couple handfuls of maggots into a blender, pulped them, ran a tox screen on the slurry and found proof that she OD'd

I’m rewatching Tim Burton’s seminal documentary The Nightmare Before Christmas, about the Skeleton Santa terror incidents that occurred in Burbank, California on Christmas Eve, 1987; and it’s hitting me all over again just how hosed up it was that the Reagan administration approved anti-aircraft strikes on a Santa Claus impersonator in American airspace over a populated residential neighborhood.
