What an incredibly trash performance by the Chargers in every single phase.

Woof

I was saying it a couple times in the GDT, but that might be the worst performance they've put out in the Anthony Lynn era. They just stunk in all phases of the game like you said. Couldn't stop the run, couldn't block, had to play lovely small ball in the passing game, couldn't run, etc. Just disastrously bad across the board.

They badly miss having a real receiving threat aside from Keenan. Benjamin loving blows, Hunter can't stay healthy, Ekeler is good but not "catch the ball 15 times a game because the tackles get beat in half a sec" good. Of the guys they're missing from last year, not having Okung and Tyrell Williams hurts the most on offense. And they need to throw Lamp out there already; he seriously can't be any worse than the OTs starting currently.

Defensively they're just a total clusterfuck right now because Phillips and James held the D together, and without them they're at a total loss as to what to do.

What's frustrating about the Chargers is that they've wasted most of Rivers's career by doing a lousy job of addressing o-line for the most part, and it's starting to look like another season down the tubes because of injuries on D and a line that couldn't block worth a poo poo. And the dude they drafted in the second round a couple years ago and looked good in the preseason just... can't see the field at all. I dunno what this roster management is right now but it's really lousy. Oh, and maybe don't blow a 3rd on a project tackle who might be ok in a couple seasons when you're supposedly ready to contend right now.

It's hard enough to win when you're missing so many key players but then when your healthy stars are playing badly (Rivers), fumbling at the goal line (Ekeler, for the second time this year), or are incapable of getting going because you're dependent on the QB getting the ball to you (Keenan), it's almost impossible

I'm definitely not gonna deny that Rivers played like poo poo today, for sure; you're gonna have a bad game if you only throw for like 211 yards on 48 attempts and two picks. and that Ekeler fumble was horrible. But this team has a lot of problems outside of health right now, roster wise, and they all felt like they were easily correctable ones in the offseason.
