Rogue 7 posted:Just want to say I'm continuing to watch and enjoy these when I can! Same! You seem a lot more comfortable with the game and the commentary in these videos than the last ones. I'm excited for Tooie. I just never liked it nearly as much because a lot of the levels are too big for me. It'll be nice to be able to experience it without the frustration of getting lost constantly.

So it took me an embarrassingly long time to realize all your posts are rhymes. Like the end of the first page.sebzilla posted:Personally I found Tooie overwhelming, some of the interplay between levels is cool but unless you know what you're doing (and even if you do) there's a poo poo load of backtracking. This was my main problem. I beat it when it first came out somehow, but nowhere near 100%. When it came out on 360, I told myself I'd 100% it this time... and failed miserably. I even tried using Gamefaqs but my brain for some reason doesn't process directions in video games very well so I could never find where I was supposed to be going. The prehistoric level comes to mind as being especially difficult for me to navigate, and I straight up skipped the factory. I think Yooka Yaylee did it really well. The levels start out a little bigger than original Banjo levels but you can expand them later so it's not as much to deal with at once. All that said, I'd immediately buy either game (any of the 3, really) on Switch. It's probably my #1 want for the system.

And this is the level that made sure I'd never 100% this game. I got the moves and got right out. I don't remember if I even got a jiggy in here

The way I've always looked at them is Kazooie is fun to 100% (because you pretty much have to to beat it,) while Tooie is fun to beat. Nuts and Bolts is fun until it's not.

I haven't noticed a significant drop in quality, FWIW. Now that you mention it, these videos seem a little more... I don't want to say disorganized, but improvised maybe? Tooie kinda felt like that too with the bigger levels. I don't really see that as a bad thing, though. Just go with the flow and try to have fun, y'know? I'd think planning everything is going to turn this all into more of a slog than anything. Also somehow I do not remember this level. I know I got way past this part, but I just don't remember it at all. With music that good, you'd think it would be the level I'd remember the best.

This was an absolute delight. Once you finally got all the boxes back and made it to the teleporter, I honestly expected you to have forgotten that boxes don't teleport with you and have to start over.

Wow that was... what. Why? Why did they make you do the same thing 9 times with no change whatsoever except position?suicidesteve posted:Nuts and Bolts is fun until it's not. Aaaaand here we go!

I really liked Yooka Laylee but it had all the problems of Tooie. Like every single one. Huge, changing levels that are hard to follow. Occasionally repetitive gameplay. Too much overworld for what's actually in it. Extremely annoying to 100% (I spent 2 hours looking for the last note equivalent in the casino level.) It also added the problem of an extremely hard, tedious final boss (I assume it's the final boss - I couldn't beat it) that's just the same thing over and over for like 9 cycles with no checkpoint anywhere in the middle.
