I wonder if I want to mouse over that or leave it as a surprise.

sincx posted:So this is all hearsay, and it may be totally wrong: Apparently, the MC had already been summoned before as a hero, by Aria (Ristarte's senpai). In the MC's previous adventure, the MC fell in love with a local priestess, and got her pregnant. But the MC wasn't careful enough, and the big bad killed the priestess and ripped the baby out (also killing the MC, sending him back to Earth). Aria felt really bad about all of this, so she reincarnated the priestess as Ristarte. And while the present-day MC doesn't remember what happened in the previous adventure, he found a note written by his earlier self telling him to be really really careful, which is why he's really careful. Also the big bad shoved the baby's soul into a robot or something. Jeez what the gently caress. If the show is just gonna keep legitimizing the hero's bullshit then I'm out, Riatarte be damned. I was already on the fence because I though he might not get any real growth and would remain a douchebag the whole show, but this sounds like that's guaranteed. I'll give it another episode to make it's case but... Wow.

I don't know if any of those spoilers are even true, but it doesn't seem to matter anyway. The hero's an rear end in a top hat to everyone, all the time. He set Jamie on fire. My take on his character is that he deeply resents being called away from his regular life to be the hero, but also, he's a huge dick.

The dub makes Seiya more of a sassy, passive-aggressive bitch, and I honestly think it's an improvement. Makes it feel like Rista's dealing with a human with an appalling personality fit rather than a robotic paranoia elemental.

Yeah, the dub sounds cool- is there anywhere us Southeast Asian folk can watch (or preferably, download) it?

I kinda hope Seiya demolishing a historic building/urban district with his cleanup powers happens every episode from here on out.

I feel like him being cautious is starting to feel like more of a byproduct of him being a piece of poo poo, rather than the other way around, which makes the whole tone feel way less interesting. rista's cool, but seiya's joke is beyond wearing thin now. im hoping the side characters keep it fresh? those dragonkids didn't seem especially exciting though

I want to believe it'll be okay, because Helck managed to pivot from basically straight comedy to pathos, but on the other hand, Helck was always incredibly likable whereas this guy comes off as an rear end in a top hat sometimes.

I dunno, Seiya's assholishness is kind of growing on me. It really helps that Ristarte's (is that how you spell her name?) a great foil for him; she's the real star of the show, no argument there.

Seiya is basically the villain and it doesn't seem like the show has any intention of making him grow mentally in any way. In fact it continues to reward all of his bullshit. The gimmick is so garbage and worn out that at this point and no amount of Ristarte can save the show for me. Also what the gently caress was that ED? That was awful.
