Fabricated posted:Another thing to note is that this is about where Horikoshi basically died drawing this arc. He missed a week, and these chapters were really short. We've covered like 4-5 chapters or so in a single episode compared to 2-3. Ah, that must be why I sort of remember this fight being longer in the manga. There was a lot of criticism of this arc then and now, it probably would have turned out better if Horikoshi had been in better health at the time of making it.

Yeah that image has a character from the manga who won't be introduced in the anime for a while yet, but the movie won't necessarily contain significant manga spoilers.

InspectorCarbonara posted:Did the manga show any of the fighting outside the building but it wasn’t adapted in the anime? No, and it's dumb and bad. Also bad that despite being part of the "Big 3," Nejire doesn't get any spotlight moments the way Mirio and whats-his-name Suneater do. Gee I wonder why.

SKULL.GIF posted:The funny thing is Nejire is probably the only other person, aside from Deku, in the entire arc who could actually make full use of Eri's renewal. Skinny Fat Gum might if Eri were constantly rewinding him to a previously fatter condition.

He also had bird feet at some point. Suneater does seem to prefer seafood, but he can mimic basically anything he eats. Not sure if that's limited strictly to living creatures and/or organic material; that crystal he ate raises some questions but it might actually be organic since it was produced from a human's body.

I will never not point to the scene where Deku and Lemillion encounter Eri the first time. Deku's first instinct was to protect the child while Lemillion's first instinct was to give the obviously terrified child back to her abuser. Mirio has his moments, but his decisions show that he's mostly the same kind of costumed supercop that "heroes" tend to be. Deku's decisions are based on saving people so he has better potential to be a real Hero.
