The kids at the dinner table are reciting the presidents, and I believe they said Bush just before Redford. Which would mean Redford was elected when Clinton was in our timeline. I can't remember if they said Reagan though. Man, I need to watch the pilot again, so many details.

I’m pretty skeptical of Irons=Manhattan but one big clue that lends credence to the theory is that fade from the starry night to the beach. This could indicate the Irons scene takes place elsewhere in the cosmos. Either way it was a brilliant panning dissolve.

Lost got too deep into the weeds on the sci fi lore stuff but it was still good fun even toward the end. It probably watches better now if you have realistic expectations and aren’t waiting week to week talking about it with your coworkers and whatnot. Still not sure if I liked the ending. The only thing I really didn’t like was killing off Locke and having his body be possessed for the rest of the show. I liked Locke’s character and they did him dirty.

It’s always weird when someone is intent on continuing to watch and discuss a show they’re not enjoying. If after 2 of 9 episodes you are really not enjoying it, it’s not likely to turn around for you so why not cut your losses instead of watching another 7 hours of something you dislike?

I thought the alternate history stuff didn’t really start until Hooded Justice showed up in the 50s.
