Mexican Caveman against GHC Champ, best tag wrestler of the decade maybe against drunk uncle against rear end man. And then some were easy like picking old grumpy kick grandad Mochi (who just had another great match against Kzy within the last month)

COAAAAAAACCCCCCHHHHHHHHH - Taguchi has killed it this year, he's had a bunch of high profile matches that reminded us that he's more than just a comedy guy Taiji Ishimori - his Jr Heavyweight run was hurt by his best contenders being injured (Despy, Hiromu), playing with the heavyweights (Ospreay) or in his own faction (Eagles), real shame that he's being sidelined for ELP right now Chris Dickinson - why not? While none were above four stars for me, that's still really drat good, and he was doing them on a weekly basis for awhile. If you have independentwrestling.tv, check pretty much any of his matches out on that show. He's a hoss of a guy who's got a real cool kind of charisma where his interviews are simultaneously laid back and intense. He feels like he would have been a big star in 90s ECW or 00s RoH.

Man I do not know a lot of these people. Ryusuke Taguchi Fandango & Tyler Breeze Rusev Momo Watanabe Street Profits Breezeango over bone soldier was the only tough one in this set for me. I know it’s probably a lost cause, but their fashion files schtick is some of the best stuff wwe has had on their tv in years and their comedic timing just works perfectly for me.

It's an offshoot of Ultimo Dragon's Toryumon system and it's the 2nd most popular company across Japan after New Japan (DDT might be a bigger deal in Tokyo) and it really follows a lot in the Ultimo tradition of meshing lucha libre and puroresu. Lots of fast paced action, multiman tags are a speciality, often some quite flamboyant gimmicks but also tremendous wrestling. For example there is this match from their biggest show of the year featuring Naruki Doi which is my tag match of 2019, the same show had this awesome match between Kzy & Shun Skywalker who is still early in his career but also loving awesome. Added bonus is the pre-match Natural Vibes performance, although this show is missing my favourite part of their dances, Susumu Yokosuka reluctantly and half-heartedly doing the moves. Talking of Susumu, god he's great. At 41 he's obviously a veteran hand but he's really good and meshes well with a lot of different styles. Two matches from this year he's had that stick out in my mind are from his great Open The Brave Gate title reign, firstly against U-T whose style is very ground based and technical and against Flamita who is a luchadore who used to tag with Bandido a lot before he signed with ROH, so more of a flippy lucha dude. Both matches are great despite being different and Susumu is the glue. I could go on and on because they've got so much underappreciated talent from veterans like Dragon Kid (who actually appeared in WCW at one point) to younger hands like Ben-K & Eita.
