StarkRavingMad posted:I'm really appreciating the ability to enable or disable individual status effects in the gameplay menu for Shadow of Doubt, so I can turn off hunger and thirst when I'm on a "stakeout" rather than having to bother running back to the diner for food. You can expand your inventory and just carry a couple doughnuts with you. But, yes, having that customizability is always great.

Shadows of Doubt PSA: The print scanner can scan footprints in addition to fingerprints. It tells you the size of their shoes. I used it to ID a receptionist with only 3 datapoints, shoe size being one of them.

Play posted:https://store.steampowered.com/app/1000410/WRATH_Aeon_of_Ruin/ Just wanted to give context for the low-ish score. It's mostly because it spent a billion years in development hell and blew way past several promised release dates. The game itself is a very well made Quake-like.

Nybble posted:What is it about the Battlefront series that they just can’t help to mess it up? They performed some magic. Somehow managed to turn the two original games (1.5-2gb) into 70gb. No graphical improvements either. It's just a re-release.

Phanatic posted:Remember when Gamespy was a server browser for every game you had installed instead of a lovely website? And remember when you could just pick a server and play a game without having to go through each individual game's built-in clunky server browser? Lets go back even further to Microsoft's "The Zone" or the other one I forget what it was called, maybe "Heat" or whatever. I remember playing Jedi knight 1 that way, you had to join games through your web browser. Dramicus fucked around with this message at 18:21 on Mar 14, 2024 |

SlothBear posted:I don't think that's universally true at all. There are number of games that get blasted on release due to either legit or questionable reasons that even out later as either problems get fixed or the furor dies out. The most recent example being Millennia, having a launch-day score of about 19% and is now up to 64%. For whatever reason the earliest adopters were really harsh.

Incursion: Red River https://store.steampowered.com/app/2116120/Incursion_Red_River/ Singleplayer/Co-op Tarkov. It's Tarkov, but set in Vietnam and you can play offline. It works almost exactly the same with all the gunporn stuff like swapping out rails, barrels, putting on two flashlights and a laser. Yes, you can put the laser on the top of your rail and block your iron sights (I know because I did it by accident). You get randomized missions and get paid for successfully completing them. You lose all the stuff you're carrying if you die, so you've got a reason to loot all those extra AKs that you find. Only one map available at the moment. Early Access: 75% positive from 162 reviews.

Communist Bear posted:There doesn't seem to be an ability to strip and mod weapons at the moment, unless i'm missing something? Several things aren't well or fully explained yet. They need a UI pass or something. It doesn't tell you anywhere that you can rotate items by pressing "r" while dragging it in the inventory. Crucial for playing backpack tetris.
