I enjoyed the expanded definition of horse collar tackle applied to Russ this past week.

Was he in the pocket? Cause there's supposed to be no horse collar in the pocket as well.

Mariota is bad but he's not Trubisky bad. If he were in Chicago he'd be rightfully starting. If Tannehill were in Chicago they'd probably make the playoffs.

Good to hear that Bennet hasn't gone full Foxborough Wife as a Patriot. Excellent news about Marcus Peters being a Raven. It's still 2016 right?

This has become less true. The complexity of the defense wasn't working out for our bad defenders or taking advantage of our actually good defensive players so its been dropped off substantially. Humphrey now shadows the opponent's WR1 and Earl Thomas plays deep instead of shifiting off backfield duties with the SS. Also, our communication improved a lot last week after a bright back up safety, Chuck Clark, took over for the injured and overpaid Tony Jefferson.

The weirdest thing is about this trade is that Baltimore has two solid press man CBs, which you'd think is where you would play Peters, in Humphrey and Jimmy Smith, who should be coming back from his week 1 knee injury this week or the next game after the bye.

He does have 2 ints this year. That's pretty good, just doesn't seem worth all the gently caress ups.

It's nice to know the Ravens lack of pass rush won't effect the game against Seattle too much.

With the way KC has been trotting him out on that ankle I worry about them rushing Mahomes back. Hopefully they give him the time he needs and then some instead of jeopardizing the next 15 years of the franchise for one or two more games with Mahomes that likely won't make a difference for the Chiefs making or missing the playoffs.

That's awesome that Mahomes isn't as hurt as feared, but how do you avoid coming back and that thought in the back of your mind? "Better play tentative, cause if I tweak this again, it's gonna be worse" and all that.

That's just being a professional athlete. Everybody has to deal with recovering from injury, feeling out when they can do what they can. Work with your trainers, trust your body, and hope for the best.
