It lets you see where the fanbase is for each team. It's based on ticket sales through Vivid seats, so not the most scientific thing, but it gives rankings county by county.

It proves that Northwestern really is Chicago's Big 10 team.

Looking at Georgia's and have noticed a bit of craftiness. The podunk county where I grew up has more than 10% Notre Dame fans. There are few scattered counties where this is the case. Nobody's a Notre Dame fan in these counties. They must have ordered UGA-Notre Dame tickets through Notre Dame's website, possibly by buying Notre Dame season tickets just for this game. I know of a few folks who did make it a once in a lifetime trip last year.

My podunk county is a few hours from Athens because of the lack of direct interstate connection. Most folks I know will buy tickets to a cupcake game, as it's the only chance they have of getting single game tickets.
