EconDad posted:When I was in high school a friend of mine played N64 Ogre Battle, I believe. He would call it "Org battle"... and I eventually had to be like..."ah... it's pronounced Ogre". Man when I was a kid, my best friend kept pronouncing “plague” like “pla-goo” (rhymes with Mr Magoo) and I couldn’t figure out what the hell he was talking about till we were playing diablo one day. I corrected him and his mom told me off because “some people find it rude to correct their pronunciations”. I still can’t understand what was going on in her head. E: just to be clear, they were English native speakers.
