Rhythm games are pretty much cheating, as it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfhhIHAMtUY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcP2Urg04Rw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuByFJQjCOU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yz7zmuY7Mto I played THE poo poo out of Bust A Groove 1 and 2. They're amazing games, and it's a pity the game and audio desync when emulating, because that's death for a rhythm game. Seriously, behold a robot with African and voguing influenced dance moves face off against a man in tighty whities painted as a panda. Best rhythm games. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdGwK5YdIYE

Game music pet peeve: when you're listening to some tracks on youtube in the background, and the next video is always some version of "aquatic ambiance" from DKC. That song is apparently really popular and the youtube algorithm redirects you to it, it's also always in SNES music compilation videos, usually somewhere at the beginning along with that slightly annoying forest music from SMRPG. I just want to hear more obscure songs.

Youtube is so certain that all I really want is 10 hour loops, full OST in one vid, or playlists. Just let me see the individual songs!

That is context in the loosest sense I have ever experienced context. O.K.! Moving on to more the expected kind of computer retro music, mostly Windows-era: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDndGSJeH1E This short song that was clearly meant as filler regardless became my favorite EverQuest song, and I used to just sit on the island in the Erud Crossing (despite the song being called Kerra Isle) just to hear this music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_9dX2Ziuds Speaking of short, have the shortest song in the thread! Installing the game was probably more fun than playing it, thanks to this song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7EZsYRWuAs Hey, I can be convinced that console music is great, too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdluA8SIO4M The best thing to come from the D&D fighting game "Iron and Blood" by far. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGGp3mvffyg Might & Magic has several songs across its many titles that are stealth fantastic, like Escaton's Crystal or the song that plays in Heaven from this same game, but this is one that can hardly be described as stealthy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JupNWYXxLkU Gonna pace myself, play me out Skyroads

Possibly my favorite part of the 32-bit era. They seemingly rubber-stamped the poo poo out of any concept that sounded halfway decent. Truly some cocaine-fueled oddities emerged from the PSX/Saturn.

A whole bunch of C64 soundtracks by the likes of Rob Hubbard and Martin Galway are permanently burned into my brain, but my all time favourite of the era is Suicide Express. It's not credited in the game, but AFAIK it's by Ben Daglish, who did the music for a lot of Tony Crowther's other games (including Black Thunder, which is literally a slightly reskinned Suicide Express with far worse music). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljZzZlASclU

Question: which is the “correct” Solstice theme. Is it: https://youtu.be/4_gObHt1uZA Or is it: https://youtu.be/bTnI8gjMIl0 The latter sounds more accurate with less painful arps. I’m inclined to think it’s the latter, despite being slower.
