I disagree. Most people who hear it are gonna be saying "what the gently caress is a kulak".

Someone on twitter made the very good point that it stands to reason labour would never stand its candidates down to stop brexit because they haven't made their platform solely about brexit.

I had a pretty interesting conversation with someone at work today (we both drive supermarket delivery vans). This guy is what you would probably accurately be able to describe as a prototypical gammon; late 50s, voted leave, makes jokes about trans people that aren't outright offensive, 'can't say anything these days' etc etc. At the start of this year, he told me - knowing I'm a supporter of 'that pinko' Corbyn - that he'd probably be voting Tory at the next election. This lasted until the Brexit party turned up, at which point this guy told me that he thought that Farage was the only way to get Brexit done properly and so on schniff. In the prelude to the October leave date and prior to the election, he had changed his mind once again back to the Tories because of Bozza legernd and because Corbyn was 'afraid' to call an election. Today, he told me that he 'was thinking a lot more in line with Corbyn'. I said that I had a great deal of respect for people that are willing to change their minds and to say that they'd done so, but what exactly was it that had persuaded him? In a word? Policies. £10/hr min wage, 4 day working week. Brexit ultimately won't make his life any better. Lads and lasses, today I just became a lot more confident about Labour's chances. This guy is absolutely emblematic of the kind of voter the Tories want to get a stranglehold on, and if they're being cut off at the pass by kickass policies from Labour in Tory safe seats, then I feel very good about the way things are going.

The fact that Neil doesn't know what an asset is and also calls it "Corbyn's credit card" frankly just makes him sound economically illiterate.

Gaemblor posted:Neil definitely knows how assets on a balance sheet work and that the 'government credit card' analogy is an invalid one. It just happens that he's a disingenuous interviewer out to make his opponent look bad over and above anything else. It's either the feigning an appearance of not knowing or actually not knowing. Either way it makes him look like a poo poo interviewer.

Ms Adequate posted:If flaccid the urethra yields somewhat to the device, but if erect the angle is much more constrainted, yes - that's why most sounds are either slightly flexible (If made of e.g. silicon) or are curved (metal). You may need to do a little wiggling either way though, so technically speaking there is more than one angle, but it is a technicality. Sounds awful.
