Nope. The tools are the same IME. Occasionally, there's a special model, but if it's the same model from before BF, it's the same.

I hear this a lot but I have a hard time believing that they skip steps or deviate from the plan, considering that making things as fast as possible in as large a quantity as possible is the best way to get the price down. I mean, the black friday things are still warrantied, right? I think they just take a hit on the margin because tons of extra tens is better than the regular amount of twenties. Also the concept of a loss leader is not exactly new - If you get someone in the store they're more likely to buy something regardless of the sale item. On the other hand, I have had experience with regular poo poo I buy at walmart being of lower quality than the same thing at other stores. I do think that in some cases they mass produce items like socks and shirts at lower quality specifically for walmart's terrible negotiated prices. Cutting corners won't actually save enough money on a small run to be worth it, but can be on something you're still running in the millions. Also, the decontented / lower quality Walmart specials, in my experience, have unique SKUs / model numbers that only Walmart sells, whether it's all year round or BF only. By comparison I'd bet all the Milwaukee power tools sold in a year would be a rounding error to Walmart. It'll be in the same box, with the same label, with the same tool inside as the rest of the year.

They can pretty much command that a manufacturer sells to them a certain price, thus forcing them to make lower quality goods. Although this does tend to backfire for the manufactures. Per-capita losses were huge, some of these towns clearly lost most of their males. Remembrance Day is still a thing, but mostly restricted to small formal events at parliament, RSA’s (equivalent to Aussie RSL, American VFW and the like) and military ceremonies. ANZAC Day is the big public holiday. Still with the poppies though.

WW2 based, simple setups, simple maps, no hackers. Each match everyone starts at zero, no crazy custom weapons and poo poo like that, you get a B.A.R. with a .45 and some grenades. There's a core group of people that played on the PS3, I'd say about 30, and then random players as well. But yeah, during the week sometimes there would be no matches going on but then it would blow up over the weekend. Apparently Playstation had shut it down once before years ago but people complained and they turned it back on, so I guess this time everyone is like gently caress it, we're gonna switch and have even more players. Per-capita losses were huge, some of these towns clearly lost most of their males. In Canada, November 11th is Remembrance Day and a public holiday. If your town has a war memorial, there is a ceremony there. Most people wear poppies. Canada is almost identical to the ANZAC nations in that participation in the Great War changed its view of itself as more of an independent nation rather than a colony with benefits, though Canada's sigil memory is the Battle of Vimy Ridge. It is one of the very few battles on the western front that was a decisive victory, and it was accomplished by Canadian troops under Canadian leadership. Living in Newfoundland adds an extra dimension to the Great War. Before joining Canada, Newfoundland's great war memorial was "over the top day", on July 1st, in memorial of the Newfoundland Regiment. In the first day of the Battle of the Somme in 1916, the regiment was annihilated in the battle of Beaumont-Hamel, taking 90% casualties. The sad thing about this (on top of all the other sad things) is that this was not exceptional; it was in fact a standard narrative all along the front. I also mention the Regiment as it was the only North American unit to participate in Gallipolli (lucky us.) The day is rolled into Remembrance day nowadays. Oh, and Canadian goons, if you want to read a good book on Canada and World War 2, Six War Years by David Broadfoot. It was written in the 1970s, but was well regarded enough that you still may find it in your local public library today. It's an oral history collection from people who lived through the time. I learned a lot from it (if you've never heard of the Zombie Divisions, that's reason enough to pick up the book, I hadn't before I started), and if you are curious, I was even putting up chapters in the old milhist thread for awhile.

That part was German from 1864 to 1920, so a lot of Danish males were conscripted to fight for Germany in WW1. Not that they particularly wanted to, mind you, but they were not really given a choice. One of my great grandfathers didn't make it home, died in a train accident somewhere on the eastern front. The other grandpa was taken POW, sent to England, then eventually repatriated. But exact same thing, go to the tiniest of towns and you'll find a memorial with a couple of dozen names on it, many of them being in their very early twenties when they died.

This is absolutely how a lot of manufacturers handle Walmart, especially electronics. You can look at the model numbers and see that no one else has that exact same model, and sometimes has fewer features, like fewer inputs on a TV. Also let’s Walmart get away with not price-matching certain things if no one else has that same model. Just on my experience, I’d say same is true for some clothing items. For example, the Hanes boxer briefs and socks I bought there a while back in a moment of weakness do not seem up to the standard I’ve had with the brand previously. Basically why I usually play Battlefield instead. They’ve stuck a lot more to the basic load outs, though it’s still got creeping feature-itis. Lately been pirating in Atlas, which is essentially Ark: Survival Evolved crossed with Sea Of Thieves. I mean, you have to work up to building your ship before you can even go pirating. It’s literally by the same folks who made Ark, so the mechanics are pretty much the same, but sailing, too. I play mainly because a bunch of my friends do, and it’s pretty good with a group. The constantly having to do the survival thing where you have to worry about heat, cold, thirst, hunger, and even nutritional balance can be annoying, but it’s not terrible. Does add an element of risk to everything.

I know the PO ran with a dead O2 for who knows how long (long enough that they put tape over the CEL), so it's gotta be carboned up to hell. Gonna fill it up with supreme tomorrow to help with the pinging (I have about 1/4 of a tank of regular in it now), and when I get paid I'll seafoam the hell out of it at a friend's house. The owner's manual also lists two heat ranges for the spark plugs; I have no idea what plugs are in it now, but I'll go with the cooler of the plugs recommended in the manual.
