For All Mankind is just... ok so far. I personally find the premise super compelling so that's probably tainting my interest levels. It feels like it's building to something more interesting but so far it's kind of hard to root for the americans (Gene Krantz going "we have to stop the marxist-leninists!" or words to that effect felt weird but ok lmao) however they did have the spine to call out Von Braun for working for the nazis.

I'm officially onboard with For All Mankind after the last episode. They blew up Gene Krantz! gently caress! Also lol at the Nasa contracting being corrupt in the show as a plot point when it's that way in real life, the FBI harassing queer people and Nixon's "YOU WHAT?!" at Ted Kennedy pardoning him Also saw an interview with Ron Moore who basically said the impetus for this timeline is Korolev doesn't die, ahahaha

Hakkesshu posted:It's a very weirdly paced show, but man I'm really into it. Can't say it feels similar to any other show in recent memory, it reminds me more of something that would come out in the late 90s/early 2000s. If this show has been made back then it would have been a summer replacement on Fox that gets cancelled after 5 episodes having only aired three of them. I'm really happy that they're getting a second season.
