Maybe. His contract was contingent on him staying clean. If he is found to be in violation and forced out by the league, maybe that provides more ammunition if Nexaca decides they dont want to give back some of the transfer fee.

Crazy Ted posted:Yes, but it's entirely possible that the Timbers wanted him back after an extended stint getting whatever help he needs and the league, since they have the power to unilaterally rip up contracts, said no. It is possible, but I don't think it's probable. I think the more likely scenario is the Timbers want cover for loving up another buy and they're getting it. Crazy Ted posted:I guess the main question is: was the Timbers front office just not aware he had substance abuse issues when they brought him in? Because one would think that would throw up a pretty big DON'T DO IT red flag when going to hand out a roster spot with the scarcity of a DP. The league/team is going after Nexaca for obfuscating addiction info. highme fucked around with this message at 01:44 on Nov 16, 2019 |

Expansion Draft picks: Miami Ben Sweat (D) - NYCFC Alvas Powell (D) - Cincy Lee Nguyen (MF) - LAFC Luis Argudo (MF) - Columbus Bryan Meredith (GK) - Seattle Nashville Abu Danladi (F) - Minnesota Zarek Valentin (D) - Portland (GM immediately announced he's getting traded) Jalil Anibaba (D) - New England (not "Jalil Antinella" as two people said) Brandon Vazquez (F) - Atlanta (another trade bait pick) Jimmy Medranda (MF) - SKC

Valentin sent to Houston for Joe Willis (GK). Vazquez to Cincy for Garberbucks. Even more Nashville trades: Adrian Zendejas (GK) from SKC for and an international spot. Daniel Lovitz (D) from Montreal for and another international spot. whypick1 fucked around with this message at 00:15 on Nov 20, 2019 |

Hey y'all. Pretty excited about the upcoming season now, though some of our picks were questionable. The room kinda deflated when Ingram immediately announced we were trading Vazquez away. Trading the international spots is suspect too, though we do still have two DP spots available. I feel like I'm never gonna fully understand MLS finance, so I have no idea if the trades we made are any good. brasstassels fucked around with this message at 00:57 on Nov 20, 2019 |

I'm guessing SKC and Nashville worked out the deal for Medranda earlier, which is why they overpaid for Zendejas. I don't completely understand the throwing away of international slots either, but Medranda will do you well. (If he stays healthy.) Zendejas is an alright back-up, and Willis ain't half bad either.
