I CANNOT HANDLE BEING CALLED OUT ON MY DUMBASS OPINIONS ABOUT ANTI-VIRUS AND SECURITY. I REALLY LIKE TO THINK THAT I KNOW THINGS HERE

INSTEAD I AM GOING TO WHINE ABOUT IT IN OTHER THREADS SO MY OPINION CAN FEEL VALIDATED IN AN ECHO CHAMBER I LIKE

RAID10 is possibly overkill for what they need, but that's hard to tell you.

The questions you definitely need to answer before getting into what RAID to use are the following:

1) How much USABLE space do they need, right now, just for current data you plan on putting onto the array?

2) How many drives do you have?

3) What size are they?

4) Is there room for additional drives?

5) How much space do you expect them to need over the next 1-3-5 years?

6) Do their application vendor(s) recommend a specific RAID? (this is important because rather than guessing you have the vendor to say we need X to ensure performance)

Look at this to understand different RAID levels and what they offer: https://www.prepressure.com/library/technology/raid

Now, see if what you want/need are possible with what you have or if you need to buy more/different stuff with this: http://www.raid-calculator.com/
