Maybe it was a plane yeah. Never heard anything quite like it. Heavy bang and then a low rumble like thunder.

Nothing concerning about RAF planes flying supersonic for no reason overland.

Apparently they were scrambled to intercept an unresponsive aircraft but all is well now. Back to sleep for me

Knock at the door today, was hoping it was a Tory because I was in a mood. Turns out it was Labour. I took a poster from the guy and then the candidate spotted me being friendly and dashed across the lawn to say hi. Rebecca Lury, she seemed really nice, despite my general 'just woke up' disarray. We commiserated over late-night sonic boom nonsense. I stuck the poster in my window. That's my election story

I blacked out my upstairs windows with VOTE LABOUR and DENNIS SKINNER posters. My dad said “you’ll get a brick through your window if you’re not careful”. I looked him dead in the eye and aid “that’s more reason to put the posters up, not less” to annoy him, which it did. He said oh shut up. I win, in a very marginal way.

Today is my 39th Birthday. I would likke a labour government please. I am unreasonablay drunk for a Sunday but we had a big old fire on the allotment and not got to go to work tomorrow. Hooray!

Happy birthday!

I'm sorry to hear you say this. You have value beyond what the people in your life assign to you. I hope you do okay.

e: I cry at the drop of a hat (I am a woman though so it's more tolerated by society) - but in the first couple of years of my dad's slide to Alzheimer's, and then in the weeks following his death, I couldn't cry at all. I would feel the pain but it was like there was a wall up holding it back. Then at his funeral I broke down and now I'm more or less back to my easily-crying self.

If it's true that having significant money tends to make people conservative then I hope I never have money because compassion is actually the only thing that really matters in this world, and the idea of losing mine is horrifying.

I live on a 1960s-built council estate and the layout is hilariously confusing. It's a sort of horseshoe, where the odd numbers are around the outside and the evens around the inside. But there are blocks of flats here and there, scooping out chunks of numbers. And little offshoot roads curving around the back. I live at number 51 and I have no notion whatsoever where number 52 is, and I've lived here for 35 years.

e: 112 is an emergency telephone number you can dial from your mobile to beg for police and ambulance help that won't come because of cuts.

Tell you something true friends, it's no fun that election week has neatly lined up with my 'black despair PMS' week. Fun for all the loving family. If the Tories get in I'm going to kick a bin over is what.

There was an exit poll showing a huge Tory victory. The exit polls are usually fairly accurate. Nobody yet knows the real results.

We weren't wrong in our policies, in our desire to build a better world. If we give up on that dream the moment it looks difficult, we only let each other down. I believe in a socialist future. Think what it was like pre-Corbyn, when we had nowhere to call a political home. We're beaten but only for now. Let's take care of each other. And if it turns out we were fighting the long defeat, then let's at least fight it as hard as we can.
