Yeah remember when I said that surely the whole Angus Taylor Document Thing was a typo by someone and then a bunch of poo-brain failure to fact check? Yeah I'm starting to think it maybe actual poo-brain fraud in a really dumb and badly executed manner

Christine Forster (ie Abbott's sister) is a Lib with a decent amount of backing who is going to be running against Moore again and Clegg & Taylor live near Goulburn. She could absolutely be dumb enough to try to run for Lord Mayor but there are reasons to be skeptical.

cogito ergo incommo posted:Federal Court rules robodebt 'unlawful' in significant court case quote:On Wednesday, 27 November 2019 the Federal Court of Australia made orders by consent of the parties in the case brought against the Commonwealth by Deanna Amato, to the effect that there was no lawful basis for the Commonwealth to issue the Robodebt notices in Ms Amato’s case. The Court also ordered that the Commonwealth pay Ms Amato interest and legal costs. The Courts orders reflect that the Commonwealth did not seek to contest that the contentions raised by Ms Amato and her legal team at Victoria Legal Aid in her individual Federal Court action. Whilst the orders are a very significant milestone in the battle to unwind the impact of the Commonwealth’s unlawful conduct with respect to the Robodebt System, the Court Orders do not have any binding effect in the Class Action Claim.

JBP posted:Scomo has the blind positivity that electors crave. I think this is it. Australian voters want someone to reassure them that things are going to get better. As that Quiet Australians article explained, they don’t care if things don’t actually get better and they distrust anyone with actual plans to make things better.

Glad to see the government setting up another “taskforce,” wherein they give money to an agency which should be already doing the thing the money is for, and then they probably will ignore the stated goal anyway (see: Serious Financial Crime Taskforce, Tax Avoidance Taskforce, &c).
