IDOL, the opening song for the anime Oshi No Ko, by YOASOBI, is the first originally Japanese song to hit the Global Billboard #1 spot ever, apparently. And it's a banger, and for an extremely good anime/manga that delves into the awful reality of the idol industry(among others). I realized that while people posted these videos of Alex Henderson:ultrafilter posted:GLORYHAMMER - Keeper Of The Celestial Flame Of Abernethy Mr.Flibble posted:The videos' Alex Henderson did with Alestorm are also good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eggzBAzCZg&hd=1 He has made some of the best animated music videos I have ever seen, and yet his videos get criminally low views versus the quality of them. like yeah some have hit a million views, but these are things that should be catapulting him into a professional career working with Nintendo or something. just look at those masterworks all, you can't go wrong. dude made movie-quality animation for a ridiculous donkey kong fan project, it's insane. his incredibly fluid animation really reminds me of Don Bluth works. The first video I saw of his was P.A.R.T.Y., and it is CRAZY how much he has improved since even then, less than two years ago.

Lagtrain - inabakumori (Vo. Kaai Yuki) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnIhRpIT7nc&hd=1 showed up in my recommends one day, saw it had 50 million views, and it's been popping up in my head ever since. I absolutely love the minimalist animation it uses which still managed to become iconic and turned into a meme by itself. The musician clearly knew their limitations and worked cleverly within them. this English cover is pretty good too.
