the community likes me wtf like i’d be letting them down to an extent if i moved on with my life and got a job I don’t hate

tell ya what working in an industry that’s always doing worse than previous years, and in fact managing one of those small businesses.. sucks. it’s like, is it my fault? probably

i can’t even imagine what it’s like to work for a business where it’s like “we did good this year boys, you deserve to feel good about yourself” like lol

This place is a message… and part of a system of messages… pay attention to it!Sending this message was important to us. We considered ourselves to be a powerful culture.

This place is not a place of honor…no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here… nothing valued is here.

doing the dishes kinda bites as far as a job you have to get done goes, but once you’ve committed and you’re deep in the water, it’s actually a great job. they start dirty, they get clean. hands stay warm. doesn’t take too long. job satisfaction afterward is unparalleled

my grandma still does em by hand and we all pitch in at the holiday meal and it is pretty great to churn through what would be three dish loads in one five person washing and drying line in like 10 minutes. its pretty satisfying to see it all shuffle away in minutes in a fury of organized cleaning

actually dishwashers are amazing because they keep the bench clear of dirty dishes, even if it only existed as storage it would be worth it. dishwashers are far handier than say a drier

sometimes I program a little. but it's really hard because the computer is very dumb so takes you very literally and does exactly what you tell it. which is a real problem when you're dumb as poo poo. because if follows you dumb loving instructions perfectly and then just sits there smiling and proud because it doesn't know enough to feel shame at what you had it do
