I had played this a while back and unlocked everything. Decided to try a fresh file to see how i could do without all the benefits. 1st run: Killed by Meg 2nd run: Used bow. Killed by Theseus. 3rd run: Used shield. Defeated Hades. drat that initial run is hard. No mirror benefits. No charm. Worst weapon.

I feel like I did get very lucky on boons with the shield. Zeus special. Poseidon dash and attack. Jolted on electricity. Then somehow got the dual boon early in elysium.

Athena on the dash and sometimes attack or special, Ares on either attack or special (the former for more damage, the latter for more defense), and just get in everything's face. Get as many dash multipliers as you can (which is pretty good for everything) and aim hardcore for the duo boon. With Athena on the dodge and an attack you are likely to counter everything thrown at you. The big issue is it made me over aggressive and impatient whenever I tried other weapons. Fists with ares on attack, stack extra with hits, the bonus damage with it taking longer to hit, and then Athena on special and dash, with merciful end duo is a good way to make everything just disappear. Pretty sure it's the speed run build as it just outputs damage ridiculously fast.

Well, I don't think I've ever beaten Thanatos this badly before.  Final chamber of Tartarus with a Chaos punishment making 93% more enemies.

I think you get some Titan Blood through a few prophecies as well. You definitely don't need to be doing a ton of high heat runs to get enough. Also, if you're curious, 1,000 gems converts into a single Titan Blood.

The spear becomes awesome if you can get exploding launcher. Launching it into an explosion is great. Good damage. The best is with Poseidon Boon combined with Breaking Wave and/or Typhoons Fury. One launch of that will clear a room in the final area. But I also like it with the Ares to get lots of Doom on a cluster. If you can get the Hermes boon to make it faster, it's just bonkers.

Breaking Wave with Splash Dash will clear out rooms of mobs insanely fast, but isn't super effective on bosses.
