They've straight-up said they're adding another Olympian god.

Anyway, got my second clear the other night (third, if you count when A&T were the final boss). Went with the sword that had a chance of critting for 3 seconds after using the AOE. I decided to double down on crits, and wound up with the duo boon that increases the odds by like 40% to charmed enemies. Coupled with Charm-on-attack, that boon that marks nearby enemies on kills, and a bunch of passive damage buffs, I had my easiest run ever. I made it through elysium without even dying, and beat up my dad with a second life still in the magazine.

I still like the shield, but I'm starting to think it just doesn't suit me.

ed. So what do you do with ambrosia? I know you're supposed to give it to people, after you've already given them nectar a couple times, but I've never seen the option come up, and I'm getting tempted to start converting my stocks into prom blood.

How are you guys avoiding damage with all the visual vomit in this game? I just had a run with the Festive Fog special with the Zeus duo, and both Zeus and Artemis's autoattack projectile adds plus triple bombs on the Rail. I died because I couldn't see poo poo, in the occasional room where everything didn't just die instantly I would take a ton of damage.

Even with relatively normal stuff I have a lot of trouble.

Can't take damage if you never, ever, ever stop dashing.

Some weird stuff going on with heat. In my current run, when I was choosing heat options at the start, I couldn't get any boss rewards to show up. That is, no matter how high I set the heat, the planning screen told me I already had won the special resources for beating each boss at that level. I know for a fact I haven't. Now that I've started playing (at heat level 1), there are no rewards coming through. Is this a known bug?

The aspect that replaces the spear recall with a dash-to-spear is super good. It doesn't actually remove the spear-recall function, it just moves it to your attack button (and the old recall button becomes your special dash). You can throw through an enemy, then dash through them to repeat the damage (and re-proc whatever boon you put on your special), then quickly backstab them twice, before your damage buff wears off.

Just had a great run with the bow-- that form that lets you load Casts into it is kind of broken, it lets you combine two upgrade streams into one form of damage. By the end, I was loading seven casts, into a homing arrow that did double-damage on power-shots and extra damage on distant targets, with a 10% chance to crit. I also managed to pick up three extra dashes, plus blade-rifts on dashing. Also, the casts dislodged themselves after 3.5 seconds, and automatically returned to me. By the time I got to the hydra, I could three-shot each head. By the time I got to dad, each septuple-cast shot knocked off like 15% of his health.

There's actually a subplot in this game where Dionysus suggests Zag plays a prank on Orpheus-- the next time you meet him, Zag tells the bard the story about the heart, and how he and Di are the same being. The bard eats it up, and promises to spread the word in a new song.

Everything just bounces around the room getting slammed into every wall several times for good measure, ripping through styx with this thing. And that's without shadow upgrades on!

Do knockback builds work on the bosses? It's kind of hard to tell amid the chaos. I beat dad with one the other night, but it was a very near thing, couldn't tell if I was getting the full damage.

I got good results with the gun by using Zeus' trinket, and getting the boon that applies lightning to the regular attack. That basically doubles its damage. You can also go for that Artemis boon that sends off an arrow whenever you attack, it's really good when you attack like four times per second. I believe I also used the weapon form where your first shot after reloading does extra damage, and the Ares boon that makes the first attack after a kill do extra damage-- they stack nicely.

Also looks like they just walked back two of the 'nerfs' entirely to Artemis?

Are prices also back to what they were?

Anything marked with an asterisk is a full walkback; the other changes are just partial reversions.

I believe it takes six hearts (so six nectar) to unlock the chance to give someone ambrosia.

And to any new people stumbling onto this conversation, in the current build you can only give ambrosia to a small subset of characters, so don't start wasting nectar on Athena or whoever.

Sometimes you just get three bad choices (or at least, three meh choices). For instance, getting +25% damage and +10% chance of crit on my main attack isn't nothing, but I'd rather have any other main-attack buff in its place. Might as well get a little money out of it, since it's only a matter of time before I get the opportunity to put in something different.

It's like the shop full of very expensive items at the end of each run. It reduces the chance players will be forced to waste resources (in this case, getting something useful out of any bad boons they picked up).

Triple-rocket with the Artemis boost to specials is incredible. I got that, plus some boons that increased my damage and crit-chance against Charmed enemies, with both my regular attack and cast applying charm, and cruised to victory. I melted Asterius in about 25 seconds.

Is the Chaos Gate health penalty reduced if you're using the cursed sword/spear?

The only circumstances in which I wouldn't automatically take a hammer would be for a dilemma boon room, and even then it would depend on which gods were on offer.

The sword has fantastic DPS, especially if you do the full three-hit attack. There's a unique upgrade that gives the third hit a big chance to crit, like 40%.
Also Nova Smash is one of the better DPS options.

Anyone have tips on the Hydra fight? I've made it to the Hydra a few runs in a row now, but am having trouble beating it. Specifically, I'm having trouble during the additional heads phases. There's too much stuff flying around combined with too many 'don't walk here' areas making it too hard to both avoid and put out damage at the same time and eventually I lose the war of attrition in the second additional heads phase.

I feel like maybe I need to focus more on dodging and less on doing damage and taking pot shot when I can, but wondering if there's anything big I missing or if it's just about practice.

Kill the green heads first, they make more enemies. For the most part, you just need to learn their patterns, so you know when to fall back, when to dodge sideways vs when to dodge backwards, etc.

Just had a great run with the rail. I did the typical thing, got lightning strikes and Artemis arrows for every hit, but in the end I got much more mileage out of my special: quintuple Athena rockets just melted everything on-screen, and deflected all attacks everywhere. I reached Hades with 164 HP, and finished the game with 164 HP; he hit me a couple times, but not enough to overload the acorn trinket. Finally managed to win with Budget Cuts and No Choice enabled, those have been blocking me for a while.

Just one disappointment. I brought Meg's super-keepsake thing, Batty, but didn't get to use it. I tried in the Hades fight, but it just wouldn't proc. Is there some special rule in place? I've definitely used Skelly in that fight before.

Blade Rifts are about equally good on all weapons (except the version of the bow that loads Casts into the shot). But yeah, Ares' other boons generally lend themselves to slow, single-hit weapons.

I've been managing to get by using the bow by leaning heavily on my casts (I'm only heat level 2 with the bow as of yet), but the volley special is just so weak as to be pointless (even w/ DOT buffs like Doom), the chargeup is still lengthy, I dunno, it still feels like the Rail beats it in just about every category but range, i.e. amazing special, low damage per hit, but high rate of fire so you can shoot and dash away instead of just aborting a halfway charged attack to dash off. The bow's dual shot is decent, even though you sacrifice range. Is the default bow still the best version? The other 2 variants didn't exactly blow my mind, although maybe it's my character setup that's the issue.

For everything else, though, I'd even take Guan Yu over the bow as the special has great range, fast, and I think it even does AOE damage. Which, btw, how much titan blood does it take to max out Guan Yu, and what percentage max life will it still drop at max level?

I don't remember how much blood it took, but it maxes out at 50% of your life.

Tried one run with the FISTS. It went pretty badly-- I got four Chaos boons, but hardly any normal ones until it was too late. When I reached Elysium, I still only had two-- lightning on the attack, and -75% damage from traps. I was completely out of Death Defiances, got a full refill from Patroclus, and still managed to lose two more against the Champions. Limped to the final boss, but I didn't even last til his second form. Just weird luck-- especially since I was trying out the new mirror option that buffs boon likelihood.

For Asphodel, I equipped Poseidon's trinket-- and somehow made it through there without even getting a boon from him. Never happened before.

Anyway, that run was obviously tilted by weird luck, but even with that in mind the fists felt underwhelming. What's the Special's role? It seems like its damage output is inferior to just regular-attacking, in most situations. I managed to upgrade the amount of knockback it did, which helped, but it still feels way too similar to the normal attack.

The game doesn't really explain this, but there are two different visual cues when fishing. If the bob just dips a little, ignore it, or else you'll end the catch prematurely. If the bob goes properly underwater, it's a bite.
