Any update?

Cleared the code with no issue, but it didn't change anything. I even talked to a nice chap named Tyler at the dealership and he was also concerned that there was a problem with the car, but he couldn't rule out the key itself since it's not Buick-made. Apart from eliminating one possibility, I'm not better off than I was, but it was very generous of you to help and I appreciate it.

NP man, good luck. Having a code scanner is always a good idea.

An ELM327 reader is about $20 on amazon, and the torque or dash command app are like $6. And they're more useful than most/all <$100 code readers because you can monitor sensor outputs too.

Don't get the bluetooth version if you have an IOS device, get wifi. If you have android either should work.

sharky already sent me a reader and I cleared the code with no problem using Torque (Light) on an Android phone with Bluetooth, but it didn't address my issue. I just wanted to clarify.
