what about shogi, the best chess seriously, when you capture a piece you can put it down as it it's yours instead of making a move, castling involves constructing a castle and moving your king into it, endgame is exciting mating nets and dropping pieces instead of small amounts of pieces in rote sequences it's the best |

To learn about shogi I'd suggest HIDETCHI's YouTube videos, he explains things pretty well and I think there's some intro videos to go with the in depth openings Xiangqi (Chinese chess) I barely know how to play, I want to learn more There's some online places to play shogi, but I haven't really tried them much |
