He's turned more and more leftist over the years

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMHKKEey9wU

He's kind of technocratic about it but he talks on Facebook about socialist policies on education, health care, the environment, minimum wage, and other stuff as being the best and/or only way forward for humanity.

I can't think of a better platform him, it provides a little bit of privacy band let's him moderate and control his environment.

He became famous when he had a publically available website, he kinda exposed himself to the world. Considering that he nee enough to code a website and register his own domain name, I think he was probably also smart enough to know this would bring him a lot of negative attention. His Facebook activity has also decreased a lot, I guess having a job does that a person, or he might be learning the value of privacy.

What I wonder is that he realized most new people he met were turning against him, in an early blog he claimed the high number of bullies was boosting his defense and making him stronger, he had to know that making a website would lead to more bullying. I'm sure there is no shortage of bullies, but he has also found friends, he went on trips to Colorado and Maine to meet his friends in real life. Most of those trips ended up pretty good with Uli having fun, although I remember at least one trip (I think it was to Colorado) where things didn't go well, I think his host like didn't want to do all the activities Nick wanted to do or didn't want to spend as much time at a lake as Nick.

Is he still power levelling his way up the Walmart corporate hierarchy?

For all the psychoanalysis of Ulilililia, most of his problems seemed to be due to his stubbornness. Once he tried something once (walking on grass, swimming) he was fine. That said, he seems like a genuinely nice guy who’s made some remarkable progress given the death-spiral he was in.

He very recently transferred into working in online grocery pickup at his store though I don't know if he still wants to be a manager. He doesn't really like working there and has been trying for a while now to get a job at a bank but that's kind of fallen through.

Pretty sure Uli's job history was vacuuming the halls at his apartment (for a rent discount, not pay) then cashier, stocking, and online grocery all at Walmart. He also used to be a CSM at Walmart but that is the closest he has ever come to a managerial position. I don't believe he has ever had a construction job, but he did help his Dad move a wall on their house.

yeah, i think that being OCD a lot of ulillillia's fears were rationalized stubbornness and compulsive behaviors which would fade in the face of some stronger motivation. he used to use his 25-hour sleep cycle as a reason why he would never have gainful employment, but then eventually his desire to live independently and pursue his own interests and hobbies were the proper motivation for him to mostly get over that

at least, he hasn't documented his list of fears in many years, so maybe he's still forbidden from entering line of sight of a mirror, but it would be pretty tough to hold down a job if he were still dealing with this obstacle
