The big overhaul mod right now is YAML (yet another mech lab), that really extends what weapons and equipment can be put on mechs. My favorite one is MercTech but that doesn't work with the newest DLC and while the author is working on it, prob won't be ready until March or later. Here's a mod pack that includes YAML + some other nice mods like coyote mission pack and pilot overhaul.
