You get Akiyama trying a la magistral, death match pervert Shunma trying for some Yano esque shenanigans with tape on the outside, Uncle Jun eats a DDT on the floor. He chases down young boy Nakamura to try to get some tape to use but Keigo runs away (bet he paid for that in the dojo) Not the greatest match ever but a lot of fun.

MOTYC 28th November DDT D-Ou Grand Prix Night 3 Tetsuya Endo vs Kazusada Higuchi HM 29th November DDT D-Ou Grand Prix Night 4 Kazusada Higuchi vs Soma Takao And Jun Akiyama vs Makoto Oishi And Konosuke Takeshita vs Chris Brookes Higuchi has been a real highlight of the first half of the D-Ou I've seen so far. And the Junretsu members collide had some fun grappling sequences. MOTYC: Astronauts (Fuminori Abe & Takuya Nomura) (c) vs. Twin Towers (Shuji Ishikawa & Kohei Sato) for the BJW Tag Team Championship - BJW (12.20) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_aKW5mNar0 I feel like the only thing I'm missing out on in BJW by not keeping up with it is Astronauts but this match proves that's a big thing to miss out on. Abe and Nomura work so well together and Abe is one of the most unique wrestlers around. Recommended watch for frustrated AJPW fans as Nomura slaps the poo poo out of Shuji. Fair warning given that it's a Twin Towers match, there are lot of dumbass shoot headbutts.

If you can only watch one, go for the tag - it's a bit better than the other two. And the announcing isn't as actively terrible as I expect for WWE.

I will finish this god drat tournament if only so I can watch something else like Big Japan and DG shows in the backlog (also because watching it has been super breezy and fun) HM 4th December DDT D-OU Grand Prix Night 5 Shunma Katsumata vs Kazusada Higuchi AND MAO vs Konosuke Takeshita Higuchi is part of the rad group Eruption who've been one of the standouts of 2020 in their trios matches but this is really the first extended singles run I've seen for him. It rules. Not stylistically but purely from a consistency level the name that comes to mind is Susumu Yokosuka. HM: Shinjiro Otani vs. Yumehito Imanari, ZERO1 July 5 Otani is basically a junior heavyweight version of Minoru Suzuki, without the heelish tendencies. He'll stretch you to his heart's content. I've never seen Imanari before, but he was pretty capable in grappling with Otani. The thing that sets this match apart is the selling - both Otani and Imanari really get over that the holds they're exchanging hurt like hell. Also, they fight for orbs in this tournament, and the show was called "We're Not Going to Lose to Corona!" This match goes to a twenty minute time limit draw, and then go to overtime, where a two count is all that's needed to win.
