Someone write a script that can be used as to generate trump misspellings, and then have that tied to a word filter, so that whenever somebody writes "trump" it replaces it with a different spelling of the word

I agree. If this comes to fruition it will be the first serious launch of a forums style sheet in like 15 years, let's invent our own thing rather than just become a FYAD clone. Talking heads and chyrons seems to be going in a better direction

It would be cool if you had av text that it would appear as the text in the headline but that would get really messed up by gangtags and smilies I guess

e: oh, and the little plat icon would be in the corner of the screen, like the logo of a news network

I think that having a newspaper theme is the easiest way to keep it simple and legible, otherwise it will turn into a YTMND style pile of annoying gifs and midi files that will annoy everyone after a few days

perhaps pivoting towards a news-oriented format could help portray C-SPAM as a "current events" subforum rather than a "political" one and thus provide a new identity which could help appease the people who see us as indistinct from D&D and unworthy of being a separate forum

If you read through this thread you'll see that there are a bunch of ideas in the newspaper/Twitter/media vein. I think if they were all implemented together it would kick a lot of rear end. Also, some people in the thread posted some code and seemed to know how to do this sort of thing. I can't code myself but I bet there are some people who are willing to throw in a line of code or two and make this into a collaborative effort.

Not sure exactly how the stylesheets work on the forums but based on the current one and just tacking an extra rule on afterwards, this rule below works but you have to literally add a :not for every extra custom grenade into it. If Jeffrey were to make the regular rear end grenade have its own rule like "author platinum normal" it would be a lot simpler to change.
