Someone senior told me I should expect certain behaviours from 'creative' people and tbh I never fully recovered from that Unless creative is a synonym for another word starting with the same letter

Some wanker at the pub was yelling that if you didn't go to dawn service you don't deserve to come in. With my medals on my shirt I said "Did you even serve? You don't get to make that jdugement"

Kinda glad that woolies inability to consistently stock parsley forced me to go to the local fruit and veg place where things are not only cheaper but better quality. All of the fruit and veg I've bought in the last month has come from there and I will continue to go there going forwards.

Have a look around and see if anyone near you does a community garden or a produce swap. I've joined my local one, it's on once a month and it's great! Parsley grows like a weed at my place so I chuck a few big handfuls of that in a bucket along with whatever else I have on hand that I'm not gonna eat (usually chilies) and it goes on the table then I pick out some bits and pieces to take home. Last time I got a couple of slices of lemon cake one of the local Nanna's had baked, along with some silverbeet and a jar of carrot jam.

Jestery posted:We started on a grocery delivery box during COVID and god colesworths is just poor quality everything Ditto for the butcher. Essentially all it comes down to is colesworth is allowing us to be a bit more lazy and get it all in one spot. Until they jacked up their prices and made their product crap, it was fine. Green grocers/farmers market and butchers stuff is always better and usually cheaper, but requires driving or walking around a bit to get it all. Can get a week or more worth of meat for less than a hundred bucks in a meat tray thing from the butchers, that's multiple kilos of different meat. I'm slowly getting less lazy and making the effort because it's far better quality.

The local butcher is pretty decent but they don't have the largest range and rarely fresh poultry but options are limited outside of the major supermarkets so I get some stuff from the butcher and other stuff from woolies. The fruit and veg place does some meat but once again its a limited range of what sells to the local community, we do have an excellent farmers market but its only on once a month

Yeah it's really become a challenge when they have all been either run out of business or shrunk down to what they can afford to run. I've noticed quite a jump in people growing their own vegies and all sorts of foods popping up in gardens around the burbs also. Of course that requires people to be actually able to afford a place with a garden. Community gardens really need a good resurgence.
